I got to do 2 riding lessons with 2 riders each today. One of the more experienced riders came to help with the first set of new riders. She did a great job. I let the 2nd set of riders ride as long as I dared. Then I let them take time to groom their horses before we put them away and it started raining. I used every minute. Mike did a lot of extra chores, so instead of running all day I got to do things I had ment to do earlier. I finished a batch of pickles and made tunafish cakes for dinner and the freezer. The new dogs are coming around and learning, but I am still looking for a trainer. One called me back during lessons. I will call her tomorrow.

Day 39
The day dissapeared yesterday. Ran through chores, cleaned the house. Held 3 horses for the farrier, did a riding lesson (great kid, good ride--she is off lead for walk, almost for trot), and had a new dog come in. He out weighs me. Hope we can teach him some manners soon...I really need a dog trainer. I also got to finish a browband. I think, haven't tried it on yet. I was given an extra week of prednisone. Time to get busy. Doggies calling. Coffee almost empty.

Day 38
It looks like yesterday was my last Prednisone, but insurance starts Monday. I hope I don't have any trouble getting RA meds, because I sure will need them. Sorry people if I get grumpy before then. But for the happy....
One of the kids came and helped with chores last night, she did wonderful. I got to introduce the little girl to the mini I am fostering, it was as good as expected. The weather was good, and everyone behaved and stayed healthy.

Day 37
Riding lessons yesterday was awesome. I just love the riders who come here. I was exhausted by 7, and I had to sit down a lot during the day. But it was all good. The kids were wonderful. There was plenty of help here, and everything got done. I just love the teamwork and good times the riders have when they are here. This place is such a happy place, even though it is often too noisy and busy.

Day 36
Today had a lot of happy. There were challanges, as usual, but it is amazing what we can do in a day. We saved 2 more dogs. And will be giving them a fresh start with life. I got to watch girls I love work with horses and spend time with their parents. I have a very full refrigerator, and an almost full feed and hay room. Today is a day I feel rich, even though I have no money.

Day 34
I got to reintroduce 3 kids to horses. They are excellent groomers and will be good riders. They are visiting, but I hope they get to hang out with horses when they go home. They have a natural ability with them. They are great kids. I got to do errands, and bought a dozen dog bones. Petty's must have thought I was a crazy dog lady. Well, I guess so. Petty's is great. When buying dog food at BJ's though, I almost always get comments. Today we bought the entire month's supply. People always have to crack jokes or ask how many dogs we have when we buy dog food. Hmmn, what should I say when I see someone buying a cartload of soda or beer? Oh well, humans are humans. The kitchen is full of food, but I am going to heat leftovers, eat derby pie, drink a glass of milk, and read. No pictures today. Enjoy your evening. My happy today is the 3 kids riding, the new dogs settleing, feeding dog bones, and new cooking ideas.
Day 32 and 33
I have been sleeping late. So I missed yesterday. My days have been the same though. Still good. Sharing them with the animals and the kids. Yesterday's lesson was a bit frusterating. Both for me and the rider. She has the will to ride off on her own now, and she says she has the confidence, but her horse is still listening to me, not her. This transition is always the most frusterating in a rider's life. How to get the horse to respect them enough. It all comes from the mind and is very important to learn. Once they learn it, they can apply it to many situations. Oh, I made derby pie last night. With chocolate crust. Time for breakfast!
